GRATITIDE: I want to chat about this amazing concept – I know you will probably be familiar with it, so this is merely a reminder nudge in the right direction so that you use its positive power! Gratitude is the focus for this month- this is a highly spiritual concept and using it pro-actively which will truly transform your life.
I have recently been re-enjoying this concept through watching the SECRET, (by Rhonda Byrne) and if you have not yet come across this video or book, well then I urge to rectify this ASAP. Whilst soaking up the teachings, it re-confirmed for me that gratitude is a vital concept to manifest positive change in your life. For me, as a professional life coach, it is also important that one focuses on all three time zones of your life. We need to make peace with the past and what it gifted us thus far, we need to have a compelling future that inspires us endlessly, and we also need to have gratitude for all that we already possess right now. What a powerful three-some when practiced simultaneously.
Just to re-iterate what this concept means: gratitude stands for giving thanks for that which you already have in your life. It is about having profound feelings of being blessed right here, right now. The moment you start saying thank you, and feeling what that is like inside, the wheel automatically starts to turn in your favour. So for e.g. if you are struggling with your significant other, start by writing a list of all the things about them that you really appreciate. The little things and the big things. Shift your energy to one of looking for what is already “right”, not complaining about what is wrong. This will instantly shift your energy from one of being negative and complaining about them, to one of appreciation for who they are and what they bring to your life. This opens your heart. That has got to be an awesome thing for you, wouldn’t you agree? If you are having issues with any area of life, simply start being thankful and grateful immediately, without anything needing to change. This simple, yet powerful action of writing it down starts literally changing your internal mind talk, your feelings and your outlook on life. It will bring you a sense of peace, calm and possibility. It will literally start a chain reaction of attracting better things towards you. So rather than being full of gripes and grumbles, you are now in a sunnier disposition, literally lighter.
So right now, pick the area you are feeling challenged by, and start creating that list. Ideally you need to write it down so you can also refer to it in the future, but if this is not possible, it will work just as well by saying it out loud to yourself. Start off with: I am so grateful for “xyz”. Keep writing/ talking until you can think of nothing else to say. From this place, you can now just get on with enjoying your day. The trick is to gift yourself time to be grateful every day…
So I have to ask you how can you build this into your busy routine? It is worth the effort, believe me!! You need to find a time that will work for you….maybe even brushing your teeth and mentally doing the list, or with your first cup of coffee, or as you drop the kids off at school and make your way in the car. or whilist waiting for that first busines meeting of the day. Find a regular time that works and pledge to do this for the next thirty days……and prepare to watch some magic unfold in your life!!!
