Hello Kate.
We touched base just before we left on our adventure to the west coast of canada. I think Nature is reminding us of our vunerabilities as well as our strengths. Since we landed 3 weeks ago we have battled against unseasonal snow storms, and are in the midst of a wind and rain storm (winds up to 100/km). Power outages and no water are forcing us to focus on daily survival techniques i.e. how prepared are we, to leave without infrastructure and the normal luxuries of life such as hot water showers at whim and large steaming cups of coffee. However in the middle of all this, we are loving it and have truly embraced each other, within our little family, focusing on recognizing the positivity in each glorious sunrise and the thankfulness for magnificent sunsets. Takes a major storm in your life to appreciate and truly comprehend the calms.

I made the bold move to move from Jozi to Cape Town 7 years ago and from Cape Town to Dubai a month ago…what do I miss the most? Ha, the wind!!!! Fresh sea air!

You are such an inspiration and literally “walking your talk” on the beach in gale force winds! Your energy and passion come through in all your writings. Yes, I think nature has many mysteries to teach us starting with why you chose that picture and why everyone likes it!I do too. Something else to ponder, hey! This blog idea is fabulous – you have taught me somthing else. The wind is blowing up in Joeys too at the moment and so we can pretend we’re at the sea and enjoying a sea breeze!
