Whilst just coming off the beach for my regular awesome morning routine walk, I noticed a lovely pale blue Jaguar pull up at the parking lot just as I was bundling my three wet noses (commonly known as dirty dogs after cavorting on the beach) into the car. I was expecting either a dude coming to check out the waves for surfing, or a fellow beastie walking bringing other excitied dogs to play in the sand ‘n surf.

So I was pretty intrigued when I saw this 55 odd year old guy take out  one of those big black plastic storage boxes from his boot. Trying not to look too suspicious by eyeing him closely, I watched intrigued whilist very slowly taking my time to load my noisy loot in the back seat. He proceeded to open the plastic box, and then take out yet another cardboard shoe box. Hang on a minute what the heck was this?

At that moment he looked over to me and said very simply ” mouse”- clearly aware I had been eyeing him out!! With that I closed the car doors, knowing all too well Sasha the Jack Russel would love to get her snout on the mouse, and walked over to him. This lovely man then told me how every know and then a mouse comes to visit him, and it takes him about a week to catch it, then he lovingly brings it down to the beach to set it free in the dunes and fynbos. What a lucky little chap, the mouse that is, that he didn’t visit my house to be torn to shreds by a cat or dog! But even more importantly was that I think this man was a lucky chap too, that his heart was open enough and kind enough to do these kinds of lovely acts. I love the impact this man and his mouse left on me…..it would have seemed, to many, so much easier for him to simply kill the mouse, trap it, shew it out or any number of options. But he chose to make a difference to that little mouse, and probably had a good feeling in his heart and soul because of it.

I had that just from being witness to this event at 6am on the west coast. There are lessons and blessings everywhere if you are simply mindful of seeing them.

So, pay attention to who does what around you, what can you learn from it, and how can you be inspired to do the stuff that matters to you. Have a beautiful day …..just keep your mice away from our house ok.

till next time, blessings,

Welcome to 2009…are you sick of hearing that yet from every which way you turn?

Here is my simple wish for you and me this year: That you allow yourself permission to follow your heart. It is all that actually matters. Whether that means slowing down, speeding up, moving home, moving partners, going for walks, starting to eat better, going on that holiday, saying no to the bullshit you subscribe to yet don’t love, letting go of clutter…..all that matters is that you live your life the way that makes you feel fabulous and integrous. we can all lose our way in life…i have had my fair share this past year re-evaluating what matters. the journey can be hard, but it is always worth it.

If you allow yourself to follow your heart, the rest does fall into place.

Maybe it is time to simplify a little in 2009.

What am I personally doing?

I am doing simple yet proufound daily awesome habits to keep my groove in groove if you know what iImean. When I combine these along with the goals I have set for the year, then I am on a winning ticket. If I get too caught up in the goals, then I know I lose sight of the magic of each day.

Today is where the magic lives, not tomorrow or yesterday. Do what you know makes you feel fabulous, follow your heart, and your life will be on track.

Sounds simple…..it actually if far simpler than we let ourselves believe

So what is possible for you this year if you start listening to and following your heart ??

go on, i dare you

Here is some of what I did over the festive season if you want a peek into my life….

BOOTCAMP

Are you a brave brave mouse….are you very very brave? I am not called KICK ASS  KATE for nothing. I am busy gearing up for bootcamp – LET’S GO BIG challenge. Yes I know that not all coaching is about action and charging forward and gettingthings done in a certain time frame. but BOOTCAMP IS!!!!! Heeeeehhaaa

I am taking some mad clients/ old and new, on a 4 week journey to achieve some goals for the year. Nothing like 150% commitment and me breathing down your neck every day to get things done and end the year on a total high!!

if you want to come and play you better act fast!!

I consider myself to be really blessed by the people that I meet along my journey. 3 years ago I contacted Nick Williams (international best selling author of “the work we were born to do” with  a cheeky e-mail about his book and how I was taking some of my clients through it, and asking is there was a way we could somehow, somewhere, do something together. That one e-mail has opened up a whole new chapter for me. I have learned some things I could not have learned from anyone else, been exposed to great ideas, and I have made a friend.

Nick epitomises the art of being a gentleman, even when he swears which I love cos I can throw words out  like the best of them! His quiet unassuming nature just coaxes the best out of everyone he meets. He has been on a whirlwind tour of Cape Town and jhb since getting here two weeks ago, and I have been able to share much of it.

Whilst I have truly loved the “work times” we have shared this trip, through talks, media stuff, coaching  master classes to a jam packed Inspired Entrepreneur workshop, I think i have loved the special quiet moments with him the best. I even get to say he came to our home and was loved by all our 6 wee beasties…..who says being in SA on your own is lonelY?

Life in fast forward

Life has zipped back up to high summer speed again. Not only have I been dashing off to Somerset West to be a clutter fairy (grin) to help an amazing woman called B>A reclaim her home, her  power and her life again through clearing out her house, but I have also has the pleasure of spending time with Nick Williams. He is an international best selling author and those of you who follow what I do and who I do it with (double grin) will recognise his name. Back in SA to do some special work at GSB: we  have also “teamed up” by offering a one day public workshop for inspired entrepreneurs. wanna come and join us on Sat November 1st? I love his quiet, gentle nature filled with expertise and willingness to share. Check out his stuff here

The weather is glorious and a tan is coming back to my skin. Hope to see you somewhere soon in Cape Town

Hilton was suitably intrigued this past week when he asked where on earth the above photo was taken as I am the clutter queen …how could I be standing in front of all this mess and was this my home? And if so what on earth was I doing telling other people to let go of clutter? Quite right too.

The above back drop of all sorts of things unmentionable behind me is quite overwhelming and busy hey!! It is SO FULL OF CLUTTER and bits and bobs that there is absolutely no space to breathe. Relax, it is not my home. So maybe you just have to focus on my mug shot, as I like the cheeky look I feel I am giving you and feel it show me as I really am!!

The photo was taken In Montague where we went to play for the weekend a while back. It was one of these quaint little road side coffee shoppes come everything else that could be crammed into it…..food, clothes, trinkets…you name it it was in there. They had a roaring fire to warm our cold toes and the scones were delicious. Called the Orchard on the main road route 62 going through Montague.

But this shot below is our lounge…this is how we really live.

Sunrises

What time of your day is the favourite? Mine is definately sunrise and this week I am up early and on the road every day as I am spending the whole week out in Somerset west where I am in a brave lady called Bev’s home to help her get her life up to date and clear out her entire house of stuff that no longer reflects who she is. Wooohhhhooo I am way more excited than her at this point because I know how it will shift her life….. but she can see the end picture glimmering after we got started and is courageously taking baby steps to clear her krap !! I love doing this stuff.

The POINT about sunrises? ? So this morning I took a very very early drive out from melkbos where I live, and was met with a glorious PINK and YELLOW sky that just oozed energy and sexiness. Can sky be sexy? Why not? I think that this time in our lives calls for us to be open to getting energy and insight and love from anything that pleases us. I Love skies in the morning, and so this feeds my soul. It gives me endless energy for the day. And so i think if something gives you enegy and raises your vibration it can make you feel more confident, more in tune with yourself generally and therefore more sexy. Is that wierd? I even walked past a shoe shop (oh yes I am stting at a coffee shoppe right now waiting to go see Bev and walked past a shoe shop to get here…..hard to keep up with my own thoughts here) and looked at shoes differently and was drawn to some sexy high pink heels…….spring has come and the sunrise clearly has affected my choice of colour. What fun!! But the shop is not open yet….pout.

Michelle was saying to me how most butterflies just live for one day. Is this true of all species I wonder? So if you just had one day to live, would YOU be doing what you are doing today? Will it put a smile on your face and a bounce in your step. Life is precious, and you need to grab it by the balls and run with it with all the energy you can muster up. I feel on top of the world, and I get to do what I love today, helping someone else get the most out of their live too. I feel blessed by my day, and blessed by the gorgeous SEXY morning sky.

I wish this for you too……….follow your heart today

I cannot believe how just ten pages of this new book I am reading (The 4 hour work week) is rattling my world and almost peeling a layer off my brain so that I can totally re-think. Bottom line is I love change and so that means I get bored easily. If I do not feel alive and juicy and inspired in the moment, I need to shift my energy into something that will give me that. So – wow -this book is a totally new way of thinking for me. The guy Timothy Feris went from a $40 000 a year working full time to $40 000 a month working 4 hours. Now THAT is clever and I want me some of that. There are lots of places to explore in the world and experiences to be had……so right now I am off to read my book so I can find some fantabulous new ideas for my life and how to create the things I truly want.

The rain in spain

Whoever wrote that title 5 million months ago had no idea what Cape Town was going to be like this spring.  Don’t get me wrong I love the wind and I love the rain, but anything in excess gets a tad too much. I even went to jhb to enjoy the sunshine and remember it is actualy Spring in sunny SA.

And I want to be riding my bike again. I swear I will have forgotten what has to do what and when if it takes much longer to get riding again. The bikes are even washed in anticipation of erfect weather. Comon god of sun, shine on us PLEEEEEEEZE
